Wendy Young (Marketing Manager of Ibiza Mauritius) – « We always knew that we wanted to diversify our activities »

The Ibiza Mauritius team has recently embarked on the diversification of its activities. For example, the company recently imported and launched the South Korean cosmetics brand, SKINFOOD. Wendy Young, Marketing Manager at Ibiza Mauritius, gives more details on this brand and the diversification of their activities.

How did the idea of importing the Skinfood brand come about?

My sisters and I were always interested in Skincare and Cosmetics. During one of our travels, we came across the Skinfood brand and totally fell in love with it. We love the products, the packaging, the concept behind it and, most of all, its good price. We instantly knew that it would fit the Mauritian market.

When was the brand officially launched in Mauritius and where?

The first SKINFOOD shop opened in May 2021 at 40, Sir William Newton Street, Port Louis (opposite Newton Tower). For our grand opening, we took the opportunity to invite some of our Instagram followers. They were able to sample the Skinfood products while sipping cocktails.

Tell us more about the Skinfood brand.

Established in 1957 in South Korea, SKINFOOD is the first cosmetic brand to root itself in food. SKINFOOD creates cosmetics and skin care products from familiar food ingredients such as honey, sugar, rice, carrot, etc., all to provide us with healthy and beautiful skin.

Skinfood is for what types of women?

SKINFOOD is for everyone. We have a wide range of products that fit different skin type. Some of our most famous ranges are Egg White for oily skin, Black Sugar for normal skin, Royal Honey for dry skin. We even have a vegan line (Carrot Carotene).

You are better known for Ibiza Mauritius, Skinfood and you are starting to diversify your activities. Why?

We always knew that we wanted to diversify our activities but we were just waiting for the right brand. Skinfood was a perfect fit for us since it had the same philosophy as Ibiza. Good products at affordable price.

After shoes, cosmetics, is there another sector that interests you?

For the time being, we will put all our energy into Ibiza Mauritius and Skinfood to ensure that our customers get the best quality and service.
